If you've read my blog before, you may have noted that I love china plates
and I'll buy them whenever I find them reasonably priced.
I have a stack that we use as dessert plates and I have a stack to use for crafting.
Well, today's project had me reaching for the second stack.
I was thinking how cute would a wreath made from china plates be?
This cute!
If you'd like to make one, you need:
about 9 china plates (saucer size) and/or bowls
one 18" floral and craft ring (I got mine at Michaels)
E-6000 glue
You should start out by laying out your plates on the wreath to see how they'll fit. It turned out that I used five saucers and four bowls.
Then you need to paint your wreath white so if any of it peeks out between the plates, it won't be as noticeable.
Using E-6000 glue, adhere your plates/bowls. Allow this to dry for 24 hours before moving.
How simple is this? You'd pay a pretty penny for something like this at a gift store. My plates cost about fifty cents apiece (I found them all at yard sales and thrift stores) and the wreath cost $4. All together, this beauty only ran me about $8.
I hope you all had a nice Labor Day. I had big plans for cleaning out my kitchen cabinets and reorganizing a couple of closets while my hubby took our boys fishing. I decided to start my morning with a bike ride. I wasn't very far from home when a pit bull puppy who had gotten out of his yard came running and barking at me. I wasn't scared, after all, he was just a puppy. I pedaled faster to try to get around him. Well, he had other plans, and the little bugger ran right in front of my bike! I hit him (pit bulls are pretty solid) and he took off. Luckily, he was not hurt. I, on the other hand, was not so lucky. I tipped right over and landed on the street. I truly thought I had broken my hip. My leg, from hip to ankle, was screaming. I hurt too much to even get my bike out of the street. My little poodle who rides in my bike basket wasn't hurt- she just rolled out of the basket onto the street. Her blanket in the basket provided enough padding for her, thank goodness. A very nice neighbor lady came to help me and drove me home.
Too make a long story short, as we age, we just can't take a fall like we used to! I've been limping all day. I have a giant bruise on my thigh and my calf doesn't seem to be working right. I did get my cupboards cleaned out though - because I'm just that stubborn, but my closets will have to wait. My leg seems to be getting stiffer as the day goes on!
Thank you all for stopping by and God bless.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10

Great job! I went searching for plate wreaths on Pinterest and was led here! I want to make one of these. I tried gluing plates before and it didn't hold but that was in a very humid Virginia. I'm going to try it again here in dry Idaho!
