Layout of the Week #82- Using Decorative (Washi) Tape

Today for Layout of the Week, we're going to focus on one of my favorite scrapbooking supplies: Washi tape! (also known as decorative tape)
This is probably one of the easiest layout tutorials yet.

Here's the layout we'll be creating.
All the stripes you see on this layout are all strips of decorative tape.

To make it, you'll need:
one piece of 12"x 12" cardstock
8 different decorative tapes (you could incorporate masking tape, electrical tape, or even duct tape)
letter stickers for the title
7 brads or other small embellishments (not pictured above)
scrap of white cardstock or note card on which to write journaling
3-4 horizontal photos
adhesive
paper trimmer

Start by placing strips of decorative tape about 1" from the top of the paper.
The strips should randomly stop about 1/2"- 1" from the right and left sides of the paper.

Keep adding strips until you get to the bottom 1" of the cardstock.
You'll end up repeating some of your rolls of tape. If you'd rather, you can use a different style of tape for every strip.

Add your photos, trimming little bits off the tops or bottoms so that they will fit in a column.
I alternated mine so they weren't in a straight line.
This would work using either three or four horizontal photos.

Add your title across the top of the second photo.
Write your journaling on strips and place the strips along the other photos.

My title is actually part of my journaling. It says, "Hold still for a minute; I just want one picture!"

To finish it off, add three brads evenly spaced along the top left edge and bottom left edge of the decorative tape. Place one last brad in the right corner just on the edge of the bottom photo.

I chose orange brads to accent the orange tape in the background.

That's it! One more page done to add to the scrapbook:)
If you enjoyed this tutorial, stop by every other Wednesday for a new Layout of the Week.

Thanks for stopping by and God bless.
