When my boys were in elementary school, I made mini albums for their teachers as a last day of school gift.
I prepared a simple album, then about a week before school was out, I went to school during lunch and took pictures of all the students and also had them write down
their favorite thing about the teacher.
Then I went home, printed the photos (cropping each student from the photos) and adhered the photos next to their comments in the prepared album.
That gave the teacher a darling keepsake of her school year.
Today I'm going to show you how to make a simple school themed album that you could use for a teacher gift or you could add photos from your child's school year.
To make this album and keep it simple, we'll be using cards printed for the Project Life album.
Here's the album we'll be creating.
To make it, you'll need:
a set of school themed Project Life cards
5 pieces of coordinating pattern paper
school themed stickers
2 office rings
ribbon
paper trimmer
adhesive
To start, choose five of the 4"x 6" cards.
These will be the covers and interior pages.
Then choose 5 pieces of pattern paper and trim them to 4"x 6".
I used pieces from a 6"x 6" pad of paper.
I love using these in mini albums because the prints are smaller.
These will become interior pages as well.
Using a corner rounder, round the edges of these pages.
Flip them over and attach a 3"x 4" Project Life card to each of the backs.
Now place the pages alternating a Project Life card with a pattern paper.
You should have ten pages in all.
Punch two holes along the left edge of each page.
Bind them with office rings.
Tie a ribbon to each office ring.
Then this is what you will end up with.
A Project Life Card as the cover.
The one I chose even has a place to stamp the title.
On the back of the cover, I attached one more 3"x 4" card that says, "Name, Grade, Teacher."
The next page is one of the pieces of pattern paper.
Attach a school sticker at the bottom of it.
On each of the pattern papers, I placed a school themed sticker.
There's lots of room for photos and journaling throughout.
If you decide to make this as a teacher gift, I suggest that you crop the photos around
each child's head, then place that photo next to their quote.
This should allow you to feature 1-2 children on each page.
If you feel you need more pages, it's easy to add some.
Just use more pattern paper or another 4"x 6" card from the Project Life cards.
Ta-da! Can you believe how easy this book is?
Thanks for stopping by and God bless.
