Vintage Easel Photo Display

I got this vintage easel at Texas Antiques Week two weeks ago.
Right away I knew what I could do with it. . .

make it a photo display.
Here it's holding vintage postcards.

The easel had five screws down each leg.
I removed every other screw and used them to attach little clips to each leg.

Here's a close up of the clips.

Here it is showing photos.
With the legs folded up like this, it could be used on a table.
However, the legs extend and it stands over four feet high, so it can stand alone as well.

Pretty cool, huh?

Thanks for stopping by and God bless.

Thrifty Thursday #187

Well my friends, here they are. . .
my finds from our visit to the Texas Antiques Week.

How totally amazing is this vintage mixing bowl?
I was drawn to that pink interior.
I was shocked when the vendor said it was only $10.
I snatched it up so fast that I didn't notice the big crack in the side til I was walking away.
So I can't put food in it, but I'll figure out something to do with it.

It was hard to get a good picture of this easel.
I got it for $7. The legs extend. It's really quite awesome.
It's got a bit of rust on the screws, but I can't wait to turn it into a photo display.
Come back tomorrow to see the finished project.

Check out the vintage metal tag on it.

These seed packets are from the 1930's.
They were found in a warehouse in New York.
I got two for $5.
I'm going to use them on a banner.

I love these patches. I pick up cool patches for different craft projects.
They were $1 each.

I spotted this tiny tin for $1.
I've seen these turned into eclectic necklaces, so I think I'll give it a try.

I also got this little tin for $2.
It has the same fate as the above tin.

I didn't pick up too much considering my hubby and I were there all day.
I spent a mere $27.

Thanks so much for stopping by and God bless.

A Peek At Texas Antiques Week

You all know how I just love secondhand shopping.
Well, last weekend, my hubby took me someplace I'd never been before. . .

We had a great time.
Take a look . . .

These welding hats were turned into lights!
How awesomely creative is that?

We saw so many car fronts- and by that I mean actual fronts off of cars.
After this trip, I've decided that a Volkswagen hood would look pretty cute on my fireplace mantle:)

The tents went on forever.
I can't tell you how many miles were covered with booths.

I love spools in all sizes.
When I see lots of one item like this, I think, "Man, I'd like to go wherever they went to find all this!"

The booths were full of all kinds of miscellany.

There's a Volkswagen trunk- it's even a good color:)

I love seeing how the vendors display their goods.

How great would it have been to bring home that blue workbench?

Love these drawers.
If you gave me a bit, I could figure out a use for them:)

I was so glad that we got to go.
I'm so blessed to have a hubby who enjoys secondhand shopping with me!

This was an awesome show. We saw all kinds of treasures.
The only drawback I noticed was the prices. I felt many were on the high side.
I guess since they were part of an antique show they thought they could charge antique prices?

Come by this Thursday to see what I bought.

Thanks so much for stopping by and God bless.
