30 Days of Lists Blog Hop

Yesterday I mentioned that I'm participating in the March round of 30 Days of Lists.
Today that site issued a challenge: go here and create a list based on one of their older prompts.
Here's my list. . .

I chose to list my weekly rituals.

This is such a fun and easy way to journal.
Give it a try!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless.

May you be blessed by the Lord who made heaven and earth.

Mini Album Monday #48- Simple Junk Journal

One of my favorite ways to make a mini album is to use an old book cover and fill it with pages.
I call them Junk Journals.
Today's album is made with a wee little cover that measures 4"x 7".
I'd been wanting to use it for an album, but wasn't for sure what I'd do with one so little.

Then I signed up for another round of 30 Days of Lists
and I thought this little fella would work perfectly.
If you don't know what this challenge is, go here to read about it.

The last time I did this challenge, I made a more detailed album that took more work.
This time I wanted something cute and simple so that all I have to do is add my list every day.

You can go here if you want to register for the March round of 30 Days of Lists.

 Here's the cover.
I bound it with my Zutter Bind-It-All.
The book cover was pretty thick.
I had a heck of a time getting it into the machine to punch the holes!
But when I'm determined, no machine is going to stop me:)

I added a 3"x 4" journaling card at the beginning.
I plan to make this my intro page.
Nearly every album I make has a dedication page stating why I made it.

I used a total of 15 pages that I trimmed to 4"x 6".
I plan to place a list on the front and the back of each page.

All my papers came from this 8"x 8" pack by My Mind's Eye.
I love the colors and the prints.

After every third page, I added a 3"x 4" journaling card that features a nice quote.

This style of album is simple if you'd like to make one.

Just choose an old book and carefully cut off the cover.

Then cut pages to fit.

If you don't have a binding machine, just punch holes and bind the book with office rings.

You could add photos, journaling, or even mementos.
This type of book would be great to feature Instagram photos!

Since my pages are small, I'm going to have just enough room for my journaling cards.

I trimmed some old ledger paper to 3"x 4"

I can't decide if I'm going to decorate the inside covers or not.
I kind of like the "Discard" stamp showing that this is an old library book.

Come back at the end of March to see how my book turns out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and God bless.

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.

Mini Album Monday #40- 30 Days of Lists part 2

This week is a part two of an album that I completed for the 30 Days of Lists challenge.
You can go here to see the first 15 days,
Today I'll be showing you the second 15 days.

Here's the cover.
Throughout the book, I used lots of random papers and game pieces (mostly purchased
while secondhand shopping).

The challenge is completing a list everyday for 30 days.
I prepared my book ahead of time, so all that I had to do daily was add the title and journaling.

I think this challenge is a great way to capture your personality.

Day 15: Favorite cliches
I actually added the subtitle, "AKA Laura-isms" so that I could make a list of the
silly phrases I use often. My family actually had fun helping me make this list.

Yes, I really do say these things!

There were so many sayings, I had to carry the list over to the backside of that page!

Day 16: Posters I that were on my walls when I was growing up

This one was hard for me- I could only remember two

This page was an envelope, so the next list pulled out. . .

Day 17: Reasons to ____________.
We got to fill in this blank.
I chose Reasons to Scrapbook

On the left, Day 18: Things I do that I wish made me money

On the right, Day 19: I feel coziest when

left, Day 20:Guilty Pleasures

right, Day 21: Meal planning for this week
This one was easy for me because I always plan my meals out a week at a time!

The page on the right is actually a piece of wallpaper with a tag on it.

The actual prompt for Day 21 was: podcasts I love.
Well, I don't listen to podcasts, so I changed it to TV shows I love.

Day 23: Don't tell anybody, but . . .

Day 24: My favorite authors
Day 25: What balance means to me

The page on the left, I wrote my list sideways to go with the orientation of the paper.

on the left, Day 26: Rules for traveling with me
on the right, Day 27: I am thankful for

Day 28: This time next year

on the left, Day 29: Accomplishments I am most proud of
on the right, Day 30: On my mind today

The last list was on the backside of this page with a postcard stamp.

I sure enjoyed this challenge. There were many topics I never would've thought of.
I'm looking forward to their next round in the spring.

Thanks so much for stopping by and God bless.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High

Mini Album Monday #39- 30 Days of Lists Album part 1

I've really enjoyed the 30 Days of Lists challenge.
Earlier this month I showed you the blank mini album that I put together for this project.
Today I'm going to show you the first fifteen days of the challenge.

The cover is a game card from a Poker Bingo game that I got at the thrift store.

The second page is a flash card- also purchased at the thrift store.
On some of the pages, I wrote right on the page itself. On other pages I used cute journaling cards.

This page is three shipping tags taped together with decorative tape.
I got the tags at an estate sale.

The third page is just a playing card- as you guessed, I bought it secondhand too.

I covered the back of the playing card with some pattern paper.
The next page is just a page out of a thrift store book with a little bit of pattern paper at the bottom.
Are you seeing a trend with me using items I've bought secondhand?

I used a Guest Check as the journaling card on the page to the left.
I didn't use the backs of all the pages- just some of them.

The page on the right is one of my favorites- it's a page from a baseball coach planner.
Got that planner at a yard sale.

The page on the right is some ledger paper.
The card stapled to it is from an old deck of playing cards.

On each list, I stamped which day of the challenge it was.

I used some letter stickers and stamps, but mostly used hand writitng to keep this project simple.

The journaling card on the right is part of a time card.

The journaling card on the left is a bridge score sheet- bought at an estate sale!

This is only half of my book. Come back the Monday after next and I'll show you the rest of it.
So much of this album is paper products that I bought secondhand. Pretty cool, huh?
Nothing like a little trash to treasure!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless.
