3 cups walnuts, chopped
1 cup sugar
2 stiff egg whites
1/2 cup oleo
dash of salt
Melt oleo in glass pan. Fold sugar and salt in stiff egg whites. Toss in nuts. Stir in oleo. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
Stir occasionally until butter is absorbed.
This was my mother-in-law's recipe. I'm not even fond of nuts, but with this candy coating, I even ate these! The nut-lovers in my house give them two thumbs up!
