5-6 firm tart apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1/3 cup melted and cooled shortening
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Place apple slices in a greased 6"x 10" baking dish.
Mix the sugar, flour, salt, baking powder, and egg together until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Pour shortening over the mixture.
Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 until golden brown.
This recipe is an oldie, but a goodie. My mom used to make this when I was a little girl. My hubby and son ate this up in 2 sittings! Needless to say, it is goooooddd!
Thanks for stopping by and God bless.
