Layout of the Week #115

It's Wednesday which means it's time to scrapbook!

Follow along this quick tutorial, and you'll complete a layout before you know it. . .

Here's the layout we'll be creating.

To make it, you'll need:
12"x 12" piece of cardstock
one piece of pattern paper measuring 12" x 1 1/2"
one piece of cardstock cut into two pieces: 12"x 1" and 4 1/2"x 6 1/2" (I used a file folder and index card divider for my pieces)
two or three rolls of decorative tape
two manilla tags for journaling
three embellishments (I used two tickets and one sticker)
one 4"x 6" photo
pre-printed title measuring 4 1/2" x 4" or letter stickers for the title
2 1/4" x 10" piece of cardstock for journaling or a piece of pattern paper
paper trimmer
adhesive
pen for journaling

Place the 1"x 12" piece of cardstock about 1/2" from the right side of the 12"x 12" cardstock.
The bottom of mine appears closer because I used a file folder.

Place the 1 1/2" x 12" piece of pattern paper along the edge of the cardstock strip.

Now add a strip of decorative tape to the right of the pattern paper
 slightly overlapping the cardstock strip.

I added a stamp to the bottom portion of my file folder.

Now place your 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece of cardstock in the upper left corner
about one inch from the top and left sides but only place adhesive on the top and bottom.
The sides should not be adhered to the background.

Now center your photo on the cardstock mat.

Place your title in the lower left corner under the photo using either
letter stickers or a pre-printed title.

Use two of your embellishments to place at the top of your manilla tags.
It's fine if you have plain tags. You will be using these for journaling.
Then place these tags behind the cardstock mat (this is why we didn't adhere the sides of the mat).

Add your final sticker to the upper left corner of the photo.
Then add 1-2 strips of decorative tape to the bottom of the photo.
For the last step, I had more journaling that I wanted to add.
(it was actually a list I made for my son's birthday- you can see it here)
You can choose to add journaling here or crop photos to fit. You could also add another strip of pattern paper.

That's it! A completed layout in a short amount of time.
Doesn't it feel good to do something creative?

Thanks so much for stopping by and God bless.
