Thrifty Thursday #7

This week I'm showcasing another old book (pub. in 1960) that I recently picked up at a yard sale for one dollar. I saw this cover and swooned. . . literally!

Beautiful. . . what else can I say?

This is the inside cover.

Some pages are in black and white

and some are in color. Aren't the illustrations amazing?!

This book will not see the sharp end of my trimmer. I will only scan and use copies of it. I do have a healthy respect for old text contrary to what my husband believes- I guess he has seen one too many books come to its demise in my hands!

Oh, I had this series of books at a kid! They ARE beautiful. The artwork is just amazing--very reminiscent of Maxfield Parrish in some volumes. Wonderful find!
