Layout of the Week #12- Scrapbooking with Ledger Paper

Hi Guys! This week we'll be incorporating ledger paper into our layouts. I am a big fan of ledger paper. I have found several different types in my thrifting adventures and at dollar stores.
Gather your supplies:
12"x12" piece of pattern paper
one piece of ledger paper
one piece of card stock (optional)
letter stickers
embellishments- I gathered a playing card, a couple of tickets, a pack of 7 Gypsies red embellishments, and used my scrap papers to punch out coordinating circles
adhesive
stapler
paper trimmer

Place your ledger paper at the top of the pattern paper centered from left to right.
As I started to work, I felt I needed some more color, so I added a piece of card stock to back the pattern paper.

Next, add your photos. I placed a 4"x6" photo in the bottom right corner of the ledger paper, a 3"x4" photo at the top left corner and a small photo at the top right corner.
Place the title at the bottom left corner of the ledger paper.
To add color to the bottom, I made two strands of banners. This is easily done by using a circle punch and folding the paper circles over a strand of embroidery floss and staple them. You can see how to do this on this post.

Place your embellishments- I put a playing card (the 2 of hearts) peeking out behind the larger photo and overlapped it with a clock embellishment. I also placed a ticket on the upper left photo.

Finally, you'll want to add your journaling. The ledger paper provides a perfect journaling spot. I used handwriting and replaced a few words with letter stickers. This completes the simple version of the layout.

To take it up a notch, you can add a little color around the photos. I used these cards from 7 Gypsies, but you can get the same look by applying rub ons to card stock.

Here is a second example using ledger paper as the background.
This post shows a layout using scrapbook paper that looks like ledger paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by and God bless.
